  You don&#39;t, Patricio misunderstood your question. &lt;br&gt; The answer is something like this (untested) &lt;br&gt; from sqlalchemy.sql import * &lt;br&gt; DBSession.execute(select([Invo ice.date], distinct=True)) &lt;br&gt; It might be that distinct=True is wrong, but instead is a separate call, like &lt;br&gt; select([...]).distinct(). &lt;br&gt; Check the SQLAlchemy-docs on this.

I am supposedly using the same database session, so it really &lt;br&gt; shouldn&#39;t matter at all whether the commit has occurred or not.... so &lt;br&gt; long as the flush has occurred I should be able to see it using the &lt;br&gt; same session, but I can&#39;t... there is some (weird) processing going on

  Aha, I see that you are correct. I apologize for missing that. &lt;br&gt; What&#39;s going on here is actually quite simple: TG is running the requests. &lt;br&gt; The renderer returns the data to the requester. After the data is returned, &lt;br&gt; the request itself gets torn down. It&#39;s during the tear down process that &lt;br&gt; the database commit occurs. Your code is asking for the object before that

  My database is, in fact, being torn down and rebuilt between tests (I &lt;br&gt; thought this was standard implementation for tg/pylons/paste). &lt;br&gt; However, this problem is not occurring *between* tests.   If this is the problem I think it is, then it has been addressed with the &lt;br&gt; 2.6 series. &lt;br&gt; One of the dependencies (Extremes) is incompatible with Python 2.6 unless &lt;br&gt; you have at least 1.1 installed.   No idea abou thte specifics of your problem, but that Windows error message &lt;br&gt; usually indicates: &lt;br&gt; 1) a missing or unregistered DLL &lt;br&gt; 2) the Visual Studio redistributable runtime package is either missing or is &lt;br&gt; the wrong version &lt;br&gt; Hope that helps... &lt;br&gt; Kevin Horn
