These blocks are not on Google Pages...embedding actual works
great.<http://vandalarts.googlepages.com/portfolio2007> I even
incorporated my own flash creations. I just up loaded into my Google
Pages site, then embedded them. Too bad google labs is phasing Pages
out now.
I tested Google Pages for more than a year, taking notice that you
couldn't add your own background image or adjust the width of the
columns, hoping that they would add some new features that would allow
for that to happen. Then they create Google Sites with that in mind
but without the nice interface which allowed you to save your page
revisions before you publish it the the web for everyone to see and
embedding. I don't know if Google purposefully dumb down the lab
project, foreseeing how valuable and powerful this free tool will be.
If the customization that Google Sites offers was combined with the
interface of Google Pages, it would change internet history.

I'm not real computer savvy so bare with me! I want to know how I can
insert HTML such as my newsletter opt in form into my google site
without losing it. I keep getting the following message: Your HTML
either contains unsafe tags (iframe, embed, styles, script) or extra
attributes. They will be removed when the page is viewed.

google sites simply does not accept any <form> or <input> tags for
html code. your opt in form most likely are using such tags. a work
around is creating a gadget which is basically an xml file and putting
your opt in code in there. you upload this xml file to your webspace
or if you don't have one, find a free one online. then you insert your
custom made gadget (via the "url" method) into your page with the
standard insert command.
