I'm looking for a list of chords that are theoretical but useless. For instance, on paper, a maj11th is a valid chord, but it sounds awful. The same might go for a suspended 6th chord. My observation: The blues is really much more complex than it seems. The 2nd and 4th beats are not the same as the 1st and 3rd but are diminished sonority implications. The so called blue notes are not the min3rds and 7ths of the main chords but simply notes from the ct diminished chord. Take the standard basic blues bass pattern of C5 - C6 - (C6 is the interval)...
