RATIONALE: all groups

don't miss this opportunity
We have a dream: reorganize all the swiss newsgroups hierarchy to be able to
support future growth. Internet is no more an obscured term for insiders now,
also here in the Heidiland, and swiss newsreaders are increasing in an
exponential way; see how many new providers offer its service in our country!
Now, we don't have to miss this opportunity. The more we wait, the more people
will read our hierarchy, the more newsgroups will be there, the more difficult
will be to change the current trend and define a better newsgroups structure.
Today we have 8 newsgroups, someone never used, and one - ch.general - having
more than 95% of all our articles.
CHARTER: all groups
No binaries should be posted in these groups, in any case.
In general, cross-posting among ch newsgroups is strongly discouraged.
Contributors may use any written language they would use in Switzerland,
as well as English. Dialects are discouraged. Summary translation in a second
language is encouraged when the subject can interest all the country.
Any message can be answered in the same, or a different language.
Accented characters may not be correctly interpreted by some software, and may
cause problems in article's headers (Organization, Subject, From, ...).
Who need 8-bits accented characters should send articles with an ISO-8859-1
capable newsreader, which is the most common standard, while the use of dreaded
Quoted-Printable encoding is discouraged (see: CyberCaf=?iso-8859-1?Q?=E9?=).
END CHARTER.

HOW TO VOTE
Delete everything above the top "-=-=-" line and delete everything below
the bottom "-=-=-" line. Do not change anything between these lines,
except to add your name and vote.
Give your real name and [email] address on the same line that asks for it,
and on that line only, like:
Wilhelm Tell <wt...@ruetli.ch>
or
Wilhelm Tell - 6441 Ruetli (UR)
For each group, put your vote in the brackets next to the group name.
Valid entries are ABSTAIN, CANCEL, NO, and YES, all in UPPERCASE only.
Anything else generate an invalid vote. Don't worry about any quote characters
(">") that your reply may insert. The placement of the word within the brackets
is not important, but use the complete uppercase word, not just one letter.
These are examples of how to mark the ballot. Do not vote here.
[ YES ] example.yes.vote
[ NO ] example.no.vote
[ ABSTAIN ] example.abstain.vote
[ CANCEL ] example.cancel.vote
Mail the ballot to <vot...@galileo.pr.net.ch>. Just replying to this should
work, but check the "To:" line. Votes must be mailed directly from the voter
to the votetaker. Distributing pre-marked or otherwise edited ballots is
considered vote fraud.
Only one vote is allowed per person or per account. Votes will NOT be
acknowledged by e-mail, but a list of voters (names and votes) will be posted
at least every Monday in the ch.general newsgroup. It is your responsibility to
be certain your vote has been recorded correctly. If you want to change your
vote, you may vote again, but only the latest vote will be counted. If you
want to remove your vote, vote CANCEL.
When in doubt, email any questions to stef...@galileo.pr.net.ch. Don't email
questions to vot...@galileo.pr.net.ch: it will be handled and archived as a
vote and nobody will probably read it.
